Recently Xbox Elite also posted up their somewhat … controversial … Call of Duty 4 review  (such because of the meager 5/10 Multiplayer score for one of the best Multiplayer games of the year) and my Dynasty Warriors Gundam review went live. Yeah, it’s not a great review … I tried not to echo my Warriors Orochi review too much … But getting 1,000 words out of that game was harder than drawing blood from the proverbial stone.

I feel compelled to comment on my re-entry to WoW because I feel like i’m really rather missing the point: You have to raid. And yet I’ve passed up half a dozen raid invites already, instead I log on and do my daily Qs and then muck around on alts and such.

I’ve put this down primarily to my coursework/exam deadlines looming, I suppose I should honestly not be playing it at all.

That isn’t really an option.

Meh, I’m just rambling now … Putting off going to sleep because I know getting up in the morning is going to be really unpleasant. It’s got to be done.

Do I take my (heavy) laptop in tomorrow? That way I can play WoW … or not … HmmmmmmmMMMmmmmmm I think not. I’ll just drink and eat junk food like usual.

I thought I had untill *Peers over at WoW Calendar* next Wednesday to do a whole Java Project, instead I have untill thursday. I haven’t so much as opened the IDE or got the coursework sheets yet.

 Not wanting to leave something half working, I took to the usual, it was recommended that a BiosUpdate was a fix for people with a similar problem/laptop as me.

So I grab the latest bios for my model and flash away. And can’t boot. And don’t have a fucking copy of my presentation for tomorrow. And don’t have the screwdriver I need to get to the hard drive.

 So yeah, good fucking night for me.

Its now 5 AM (Presentation in 11 hours) and i’m trying to create an independant boot CD so that MAYBE I might be able to snatch my files off before throwing my laptop down the stairs.

What the hell kind of luck is this? I mean really? Ffs.

Regardless of whether it survives blue-screenery, it has already amazed me with it’s versatility. brb to tell you how it goes.

Appendix 2: (5:30) After a painfully slow boot process, it seems to be getting there >_> Its loading teh Shell now … I’m giving it all the time it needs, it is after all booting entirely from a CD <_<

 Appendix 3: (5:55) Good and Bad news, I think. It worked so far as  can tell except the browser is allergic to secure connections meaning I had to jump through hoops to get my files sent.

But now that i’ve got them my computer is convinced they’re encrypted? Is that just because I have an older version? Seems odd.

Ah yeah, downloaded the Office 2007 compatability pack and it works perfectly now.

DISASTER AVERTED.

This does of course mean you’ll be without the Legend of ET for a little bit longer, sorry chaps

Final Appendix – It occurs to me the reason this is happening is because this is a fucking Vista Laptop … But has XP on it? So when I flashed the Bios, the world ended. Typical.

Final Final Appendix – Reflashing the Bios to an earlier version did nothing. However, I’m going to try and reflash to what I think was the exact version … Restoring the Status quo? Otherwise, I give the fuck up and i’ll just ask for a vista install.

I was going to Vlog it, but its too late at night to speak loud enough … So you’ll have to live with this! I went out last night, that was particularly fun … Didn’t get home untill the afternoon the following day. Very much worse for wear.

As a  result I didn’t really get any of the work done that I said I would, however I did get -some- done, most notably I wrote my Smackdown vs Raw 2008 review for Xbox Elite (which is a little bit late due to Mass Effect et al). It was less than gleaming, but I think we need to start showing developers they need to sort their fucking act out.

Anyway, you’ll get that soon enough.

I also did a teeny bit of the Legend of ET video, I’ll try to have the first part (I estimate 3 in total) up some time next week. You should note, i’m doing it mainly for fun, but it is supposed to be a little educational. Theres so much misinformation spread around that its quite frankly disgraceful.

On other news, I have a presentation to do for Tuesday I haven’t started, I borrowed Splinter Cell: DA for the 360 but haven’t even touched it, I didn’t play anymore Scarface, I still haven’t really played Lego Star wars: TCS and Mass Effect is all I really want to play. No fair.

I’ll be getting busier and busier onwards towards Christmas, so you’ll have to forgive me if posts become sporadic. Notably, I i’m still concerned about our Database unit, because the most pompus arrogant cunt ever (Dave Billinge) insists on just verbally abusing everyone who asks for a little direction. (That is what he’s fucking paid for).

Anyway, this is much longer than I had intended, so have a nice one guys.

On other news, Royal Mail are cunts. Stop Striking you imbeciles, you’re hurting the customers and destroying your own company.

For example, i’m waiting for VERY important Finance Paperwork as well as text books for University. By striking, they are preventing me from actually getting the education i’m paying for.

And if they seriously intend to carry it on for the next two weeks, i suspect they will be receiving legal complaints.

Companies as important as Royal Mail shouldn’t be allowed to strike … Could you imagine if the Electricity or Water companies decided to strike? Of course not, because that would be illegal.

I’ve been told its imperative I go to a tutorial we have at 16:00-17:00 for coursework purposes …. But tbh … 6h30mins is a long time to wait.

On other news, I recently sampled a few Demos on XBL, namely; Conan, Thrillville, some Koei game and … some other junk.

I agreed to do a review for Xbox Elite about Warriors Orochi, a cross between Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors … A Free game is a free game ^_^

Well I’m back from my awesome week staying with Leslie, huzzah, now back to sitting around staring at Forums >_>

Erm, we saw the Bourne Ultimatum – After making her watch both in quick succession the day before, and it was indeed very good. Very good. In my opinion, it is the best Spy Movie Ever (Casino Royale is a close second ), Kudos to Matt Damon. That man is INVINCIBLE.

Erm … Work hasn’t actually phoned me back yet >_> Which is fine with me, I’m enjoying being able to relax before going back to Uni.

Ehm … 6 Weeks and i’ve only logged into WoW Twice … Must get back into that <_< Need more help finishing my twink really … Twinks always get me through the dry streaks.

 I’ve been slumming it up at my GFs house recently since her mother is away for the week, I took the week off from work to, so I could spend more time with her.

Figure I may as well before we both go to University … And with me probably working the odd night here and there it might become even harder to see her.

Anyway, I’ve got a few things on my list which I plan to get done while i’m seeing her … like getting Zombie Genocider (45,000 now – about 8k to go) Maybe play Bioshock through again …Watch loads of movies i’ve been putting off … Plus, doing some basic cooking is cool

We watched Firefly/Serenity yesterday … I made her fall in love with it – her favourite character was Wash. Needless to say, now she hates Fox as much as me. We also watched Wolf Creek which was possibly the slowest starting movie in the history of movies.

Although, once it got going …. it got going >_>

I’m at home atm (thus the post) just getting some clothes and stuff … Supposedly a hair cut, but I think the barber is closed now – Tomorrow perhaps? Then i’m heading back.

Oh and I got my University Preliminary Results back passed 7 Units out of 8 getting myself 110 Credits. Pretty much what I was expecting. Hope Exams are going/did go well for all of you still yet to sit them.
