Well that was certainly a bloody shock, there was an unexpected issue with my SQL database which meant that nobodyreadsthis.co.uk was returning a connection error message which, as you can imagine, isn’t very exciting.

Thanks a bunch Godaddy.

What is it with services like these? I would understand if I was working it all very hard or doing something unconventional because after all – They are the budget option as opposed to the quality – but no, I was running two blogs on two seperate SQL databases and one has a connection failure for approximately an hour, possibly more.

God forbid I was doing business on here!

I intend to get to the bottom of what happened, I’ll let you know if I do. In the mean time if there are any more outages, check my twitter feed for bitching.

Btw, extra kudos for solving the title without googling it

This blog is really becoming a weekly thing but I guess that lends itself mostly to twitter which I still use actively. I wish I could say “I use all my material on twitter” but the truth be told the crap I tweet is the stuff I could never be arsed to include in the blog anyway.

It especially doesn’t help that now alongside working 8 hours a day I’m doing some University work and combating my generally shitty well-being. I recently made the mistake of watching Superfat vs Superskinny on Channel 4 Catchup and have since then eaten vastly better food.

My Tuna sandwiches (although still packed with mayo :<) have lettuce in them, for dinner last night I had an epic pasta bake instead of having oven cooked starchy foods like chips, chicken dippers and burgers. Although ... I do have a shed-load of the stuff still in the freezer so I will eat it, but I'd like to trial a full week of healthier eating to see how I like it.

My only real concern is that it'll be too expensive ... Having a nice pasta salad isn't hard to prepare, but the issue arises when you take into account the low shelf life of vegetables coupled with their moderate price. Buying a cucumber for £1 (or whatever the price for such goods actually is) is all well and good, but if it goes off or at least isn't as fresh within a matter of days then I'm poised with the problem of what to cook at the end of the week.

Just a quick hello to Leslie if she's reading, she recently dinged 57 I believe on her Frost Mage and is loving it, I took her to Scholomance and Stratholme to see some bosses, do some quests and get some loot. It was sometimes stressful, but generally a lot of fun. I think she's wearing 3/8 Devout and no, you aren't misreading. I did say devout.

Anyway, I must return to the ever dwindling life of systems engineering, it can't all be fun and games.

Oh harro my non-existant readership! I come to you bearing … Baring … Barring … Bheiring … No news of any significance.

I’m back from Scumhampton and thus have returned to work. I’ve contracted a throat thing which is swerving between *meh* and “I wish my throat wasn’t lined with gravel”. But oh well!

I bought myself Battlefield 2, now safe in the knowledge that most people stopped playing it quite some time ago and I thoroughly enjoy it. Except for the part where I suck at it and only about 8 of [large number] maps have bot paths prepared.

What a pain in the backside.

I’ll be looking at it more closely when Leslie goes home though and if i’m suitably impressed perhaps I will invest in Battlefield 2142 or whatever it is with the big mechs. Other games i’ll be trying are “Space Station Simulator” and “Space Siege”.

Don’t judge me, 3 for £10 ftw.

Anyway, I’ve been playing WoW recently helping Leslie level up, we’ve been playing Side by side

So pity the fool who aint got 2 computers.

Anyway, LotR Conquest arrived on my door step yesterday, a fresh review from Xbox Elite. Not to give too much of what I think away, it’s supposed to be Star Wars Battlefront, but LotR instead.

As you can imagine, this does not work too well at all. In fact, if you played any of the trilogy games back on the PS2 … They were a damn site better. Such a shame …

Those of you who don’t know/care I’ll be down in Gosport for a limited time only this weekend! Then again, i’ll probably be too busy to do anything ¬_¬ I have half a day free, then a party followed by a few days with Leslie.

Oh so much fun, as you can imagine!

Anyway, that’s about all the griping I wanted to do, I played some WoW recently … Warlocks are bloody hard work to play as vs. High level mobs, or is this just a caster problem in general?
