It seems that it only takes an afternoon to go from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon … Especially when there’s a hulk of useless PC sat on your desk reminding you of the shit you have to deal with.

Anyway … I don’t really feel like posting so you’ll look at these screenshots and YOU’LL LIKE IT.

So here’s the question: Is it better to have loved and … No just kidding. 

Right I found that the problem with my PC was rapid fragmentation – Or at least that appears to be the case. During work yesterday I ran the defragger (because the tool reported a shocking 25%+ Fragmented data) and returned home to a happy and healthy PC.

The point being … Something here is defective probably the HDD itself … But if it IS defective but regular defrags not only fix the problem but keep the system healthy is it that bad a trade off?

The main reason I don’t want to warranty the piece of shit is because, at the end of the day, I think they’ll only factory reset / defrag it and send it back because it LOOKS fixed.

Whilst you might be saying “Yeah but it’s broken”. Trust me, i’ve worked as an engineer in a place like this before and it’s hardly their fault if it looks fixed but isn’t … In the mean time maybe my constant defrags will actually completely break the harddrive then in 6 months when these PCs are no longer on the shelf I can warranty the fucker and get something new

Thats the plan anyway. Company of Heroes still rocks but the German Panzer Elite do not.

Never buying boxed PC again.

Ok, so the PC is bust again.

This morning I woke up to it having not shut down last night – The hard drive was already 25% Critically Defragmented.

This is a hardware problem.

If this gets seeded on Google for people to read RETURN/WARRANTY this PC immediately. It’s looking like either a faulty HDD or a faulty MB.

I for one am going to struggle to find the time to be at home to have this warranty’d so don’t expect me to be on my PC or playing CoH for atleast the next two weeks.

I was going to rant and rave about the Atheon, which I wrote about recently, because I made the mistake of reading some of the comments since it popped back up onto the headlines of Wired.com.

Did you know there is a Free-Hovind website? Surely the simple nature of this site is Anti-christian – After all he committed the sin of theft and is serving due punishment! Not to mention the other sins he committed such as being a bearer of false witness by intentionally “teaching” his “science” to confuse the minds of those already weighed upon by Religion.

Anyway … That place is a dumping ground for theist drivel and it’s actually quite saddening that they turn out in force – to a TECHNOLOGY website – to spew thise nonsensical crap about “7 types of evolution. It’s progress I guess, that’s 7 up from 0, we just have to convince them there is only 1 now. Shouldn’t be too hard, after all, they believe there can only be one god (As opposed to a Pantheon) so why can’t there be one Evolution?

One wonders if U3 gets the message

U3 is a company which makes annoying firmware for USB devices that preloads shitty program management software onto your USB stick. Don’t get me wrong, it’s quite clever in that it carries its own registry information so you can run most applications from it – It’s just the fucking software that insists on hijacking whatever you’re doing to annoy you with it’s constant pop-ups and driver installations.

Seriously, I got these given to me where I worked to! First thing I did was download the U3Remover which I all recommend you do. 

On other news I reformatted my new PC for the … 5th? … time. It took a staggering 24 Hours to undo whatever the fuck happened and installed XP in record time 15~ Minutes. Hopefully this is all sorted now and I can wag my finger at dirty Vista 64.
