Haskell, Web Servers and You
James Reynolds | May 14, 2008I really tried to crack a pun out of “Haskell” but found it to be more akin to drawing blood out of a stone. Much like using Haskell then or as all the sheep would put it ‘You don’t code Haskell, it codes you.’ And bizarrely enough that’s not terribly far from the truth because Haskell will punish you for doing any even slightly wrong – but then that’s only good coding ethics.
As you may notice it’s 5am as I’m writing this. I honestly don’t know if you can even see the time with this new swish template I’m using but oh well. I’m up at 5am because I decided that I wasn’t going to let Haskell beat me and the deadline for three pieces of coursework is tomorrow … Today … In 5-10 hours.
Haskell beat me, but I did manage to hopefully bleed about 60% Marks out of it. Shout out to all the guys in #Haskell on Freenode, especially you Cale. They are truly a font of wisdom.
C# Totally beat me, that is something I will not be submitting tomorrow.
But Webserver Programming on the other hand I got comfortably done. Probably not done enough to get top end marks due largely the fact I’ve been able to give it about 8 hours in the last two weeks (at least 2 of which I spent today on paperwork). I will upload it to the WSAG server when I can get it to work.
Bloody thing.
Kudos goes to Blizzard for my header graphic. If I’m going to be this lazy expect me to change it semi-regularly (once or twice a year ;p).
Other than that … I’ll see you guys soon in the real world. Time to get 4 hours sleep – After I check Facebook, Kotaku, my Webcomics and maybe a couple of … Other websites.
Regards,
JamesR.
It’s funny really, I churned out a fully working calendar system in what had to be less than 50 hours and yet WSAG is sat there doing nothing.
Still looking for someone interested in a small HTML/CSS project – Plenty of opportunity to be creative. Get it touch at jamesr87[at]gmail[dot]com
