Nobody Reads This

Uther: I dearly hope that there’s a special place in hell waiting for you, Arthas.

And I have no Illusions Otherwise.

Dazzling!

James Reynolds | April 28, 2008

Short post.

I finally got that Dazzle I bought quite some time ago to work correctly so I spent some time recording stuff on my 360. The rig isn’t perfect but it works.

Check out the YouTube channel to see the videos!

Regards,
JamesR.

I intend to put a lot of videos up in future now so watch out.

Work, Podcasts and Juno the OS.

James Reynolds | April 26, 2008

So ends another riveting night of manual labour and I feel pretty good – probably due to the two pro-plus I took before leaving last night but who cares where its coming from. I’m awake(ish) and that’s all that matters.

Two quick things before the meat of this post – I apologize to my regular readers and feeders (I know there are a few) for not posting and this is due mostly to my second point that I finally scribbled down a Universe at War review. My review is favourable.

This is even though my Xbox tried to sabotage me by deleting my saves and screwing with my profile but thank God for Profile-Integrated-Saves is all I can say. I shall refine it probably later and it will be up some time before November.

I have taken to Podcasts very recently which I may or may not have mentioned and they help to get me through some of the rougher hours of work when my Music starts to drive me insane. In no particular order the Podcasts I am currently subscribed to are:

  • Blizzcast (obviously)
  • How I WoW (A great podcast which centres around a WoW celebrity interview. Great hosts.
  • The Instance (Definitely a tied first for best quality podcast.)
  • Legendary Thread (Is ok but sparsely updated and to be honest they don’t seem to know that much.)
  • World of Warcast (A fairly decent cast, shame they never finished their Class Circles. They were the best part.)
  • WoW Insider Show (Has the best characters hosting, but often lacks any kind of insight.)

Not surprisingly all Warcraft podcasts. How I WoW is only three shows in and is already a contender for my favourite show – Last night I listened to show 3 where they interviewed the lovely (and might I say quite attractive) Felicia Day or perhaps as you might know her, “Codex” from The Guild.

She came across as very nice and extremely knowledgeable of WoW. At least Old-world WoW because she did stop playing, she was a full on hardcore raider. It’s nice to see that there are Women WoW players who are not only seriously good at the game, but don’t play Hunters and aren’t complete bitches. Yeah, I’m talking to you. But you aren’t reading. Because you’re busy sucking. Taurella. Yeah, I name dropped you bitch.

Anyway …

I also listened to The Instance which had a third chair presenter who was a Guest from last week, a man who’s indomitable charisma makes him the lead of the Podcast when he so much as breathes into the microphone. I’m of course talking about Curt Shilling … Of course … because none of us Brits will have ever heard of him.

He’s an incredible baseball pitcher, an amazing human being and would you believe it … A hardcore WoW player who is using his wealth and status to start up his own MMO design studio – 38 Studios. As much as it would change the instance and possibly overcrowd it when they had a guest on Curt was a great addition to the show and added a lot more WoW related trivia to the mix. I very much enjoyed hearing about old zones and quests for once.

After listening to my podcasts I switched to the Juno Official Soundtrack, an album full of quirky acoustic songs that you simply MUST own. I mean I know most of my friends are into like r0×0rsurb0×0rs metal and all that gash but these songs make me smile and chuckle to myself every time I hear them. if you’re seen the movie you will know how brilliantly cute these songs are.

I also listened to a bit of the Mass Effect sound track which although almost entirely background music was really really relaxing. I especially love the Mass Effect theme song itself which seems to me like Deus Ex meets Blade Runner or something awesome like that. Wow, that would be awesome wouldn’t it?

Yes. Yes it would.

The next week is set to be really rather busy so don’t expect to see me around too much at all. I will try, but what with Coursework, work, GTAIV, my Anniversary and sleep to have … It could be really rather busy.

I hope you’re doing ok, if you have a Facebook account check me out i’m on there now.

But otherwise, leave me a message if there’s anything you want me to post about on WSAG because I really have little inspiration right now and no time to really dedicate to it.

Regards,
JamesR.

Be Warned, the Juno OST will jam your head with songs you won’t be able to get out.

World of Insomniacraft

James Reynolds | April 21, 2008

Last night, because I couldn’t sleep, I did some MASSIVE reshuffling.

Sit down Mark, because … I deleted half of my alts. Well cleaned them out, emptied their BoE stuff and mats into the Guild bank and then deleted them.

My 25~ Druid, my level 5 Priest and my 16 Work-in-Progress Warrior Twink were all deleted last night.

ALTHOUGH, I did immediately put placeholder chars in for the names I liked and that Warrior has now become a Work-in-Progress Rogue twink by the same name. (Who btw needs an invite)

So in reality I only freed up 1 slot on my server list, but besides the odd bit of leatherworking here and there I didn’t really use or play any of those chars.

Oh and I deleted that Hunter I started yesterday … Its almost a tradition. I fucking hate hunters.

On another note my alt Guild Disciples of Arthas underwent a big rework to. I have retuned the ranks and permissions so that if I want to start operating it as a Guild again – which I do – then I can. I picked up another Guild bank slot and reorganised that to.

The Tabard also underwent a slight change and I completely reassigned everyone’s rank.

Mark and Dickson – If you’re reading this you can pick a char for an Officer rank.

Start recruiting as and when you can … The only rules I have are:

  1. Don’t be a dick
  2. Give as you take
  3. No expectations

In a word: CASUAL.

I know you’re floating around Rob, I presume you’re looking for a place to fit in as a Raider and thats fair. Mark; if you want to move Eldan back in and help me try to mainstream this Guild then lets go for it.

The Guild info, MotD and both Info panes for the Guild have had information added.

Regards,
jamesR.

Oh and if you want to start Recruiting – Offer up a Free tabard to anyone that wants to join above Level 10. Take the money from the Gbank and if you need more just tell me.

Gquit ftw

James Reynolds | April 19, 2008

I had had enough of my WoW Guild (Novus Initium) and Gquit out last night. Why would I Gquit out of the “New-Guild-on-the-Bloc” you say?

They were a bunch of jerks. Well, quite a few of them were and most of the officers to.

I don’t know what it is,  i’ve been in the Guild for a long time and the GM was always a complete wanker for no reason. Recently however, newly promoted officers were giving people aggro for as much as asking about a new policy (My most recent provocation).

This is coming from someone who couldn’t even master cube clicking on Magtheridon. Yeah. Sure. You’re really pro compared to me …

I get one of two responses when I open my mouth on Guild Chat:

  • If you don’t like it, you know how to Gquit
  • You don’t even raid, stfu.

For the record, since they have VERY short memories, I stopped raiding for 3 reasons:

  1. I stopped raiding Kara because they gave ALTS my fucking loot
  2. I stopped raiding 25-mans because our new loot system penalised me for attending all 25mans but no 10 mans
  3. I lost my loot privileges for an infraction I don’t even remember committing. Apparently 3 times to.

And you know what? I had quite enough. I could tell you what the new policy was, but it was so ludicrous that i’ll save them the face.

It’s the old WoW truth really … As soon as a Guild starts to see Epics, they start to become greedy. Then the attitude becomes “Loot first, enjoy later”.

That’s not why I play WoW. And it’s not why I joined NI.

Regards,
JamesR.

I left a scathing post on their forums to about their QUOTE “Shit attitude” UNQUOTE.
