Puzzle Quest et al

29 02 2008

God damn that game, I purchased it after playing it for about two minutes on a friend’s hacked PSP (I only wish Patapon was on XBLA) and immediately went home and shelled out the massive 1,200 MP for it.

I can’t complain though, it is incredibly fun. Needs more classes, but it’s fun.

I’ve been spending more time playing and buying XBLA games though, alongside the Xbox Classic: “Sid Meier’s Pirates!” which run remarkably well and even features working 360 online, it is surprisingly difficult though compared to the dated PC version which I used to play.

Those of you who haven’t heard, the LOST game is my next review and I do certainly look forward to giving it a go. I’m told “It messes with the shows plot”, but that guy was clearly deluding himself. EVERY EPISODE of that entire series messes with the shows plot, thats why retards are still watching it even though the writers have obviously decided “It’s easier to milk people, than write original stuff”.

I finished watching Series 1 of Prison Break - which isn’t even remotely guilty of milking - and have decided it IS a good show. It can be funny when it wants … But more often than not it’s like 24 killing off so many more people than you would expect.

Anyway, I’ve got to wonder over to University now … fucking 8 am … So have a nice one my chubby cheeked readers.

Regards,
JamesR.

24 02 2008

Pretty sure I should have my internet sorted in the next few days, won’t be 100% up and running untill maybe Tuesday, but I should be online on the old laptop by Tuesday.

And back on WoW full time by Friday.

Unless Sky has a problem with that …

Updatery 22/02/08

22 02 2008

Two weeks now without internet and I am so far behind everything I had planned it’s really rather irritating. I’ve had to stow away from my Uni friends to get on to do the various things I have to.

For one, I still owe Xbox Elite that Kingdom Under Fire Review, which i’m just finishing up as we speak. Also - I note that in my absence none of the other WSAG writers have actually done anything.

I also need to get all my software and such for Uni sorted and onto a USB HDD because I obviously can’t download any of it from home.

Bleh. Hadn’t planned on coming here and moaning too much, you’re probably getting sick of it.

On other news, I found an album by the Bastard Fairies floating around somewhere and I remembered how awesome they were, so check out their YouTube Channel. Or more particularly their song “We’re All Going To Hell” which is as brilliant as it is true. Last time I checked you could download some of their stuff for free.

And now for our Elemental Temple Update:     .

Erm, I’ve recently bought myself Lost Planet a game i’ve wanted for quite some time but never actually got around to buying. It’s good. Very good in fact, it looks and plays fantastically. It’s as crisp as AssCreed without all the boring sand walls … Rather snow walls … And 50 foot creatures ala (Allah? No, too easy) Gears of War.

I also find myself watching the “GamerTV” shows and such that play on Bravo and I end up thinking “Wow, these people have no taste”. Like watching stuff about No-More Heroes … I won’t divulge much, i’m about to go and post on WSAG about some of the games that are floating around.

Anyway, I hope you’re keeping well, the internet doesn’t seem to progress much in my absence. Luckily.

Regards,
JamesR.

Shoot me

18 02 2008

I forgot what it was like to be without the internet … It’s like having a very important part of my cut off. You know … Like my genitals … or just something way more important than an Arm or a leg.

Anyway, you probably thought I was dead or something, this is the longest time i’ve been without a live internet connect in … Years probably, so I thought i’d drop in.

God knows what my Guild is thinking, they’re currently restructuring the Guild, obviously not a great time to be without the internet. I’m probably losing all my raid spots as we speak, the irony of being in an Arena team called “Lost Our Raid Spot” isn’t lost on me, it’s just hard to laugh.

I haven’t actually talked to my father about sorting the connection yet, every time I presume he’s wanted to i’ve been asleep or entertaining or something. He probably thinks it’s intentional - but the reality is that without the internet I’ve no reason to stay up 20-hours a day anymore and if I am awake, I’m bored half to death.

I owe Ross over at Xbox Elite the Kingdom Under Fire review, which since I am without laptop, I do not have what i’ve written so far with me. The game was quite a chore though and if i’m entirely honest - so is writing the review. #

But it shall be done.

I’ll be online for a few hours tomorrow, it’ll be your best bet for getting in touch via the internet for the next week at least.

Hope you’re keeping well.

Regards,
JamesR.

P.S. I just spotted the ruckuss over on ET, it’s nice that you still think of me ;)

But come on, whats with the blatant lies … I didn’t always cause trouble, over 2,000 posts - I gurantee at least 90% of it was fine.

Still, the fact I get under your skin so badly without even being around is pretty awesome.

Oh and cheers for linking the Vid LE, it needed the publicity ;)

Disaster Strikes, Again!

14 02 2008

Well about the worst possible thing that could happen - did happen.

At some point I contracted a virus, nothing particularly invasive with regards to me or my privacy, but what it did do was turn my laptop & my internet connection into a mailserver, from whence it acted as a spambot for a few days.

In response, Sky temporarily cut my home internet connection, I phoned up to find out what had happened and thats when I found out.

I immediately started trashing my laptop with every virus, spyware and adware software I could find to get it clean, but without an internet connection I only got half the job done.

The worst part though, is that my father has basically resolved to removing the internet connection from the house, i’m not sure if thats to spite Sky or me. Atm i’m using the University internet connection to update my virus checkers (I hate AVG, but untill I find a norton disc …) and notify the world that i’m pretty much screwed atm.

I might be able to find a way to play WoW … Partially at uni, partially at the shop but it’s hardly practical.

Another massive pain is that I can’t do my Uni work, download software that I need for new assignments or even check my timetable - Which caused me to miss lessons today.

Then I can’t access my Webservers … My emails … my Chat clients … etc etc etc.

So yeah, I’m out for a while … I’ll try and get on a connection and put up some stuff every now and again, but don’t expect anything regular anymore.

Regards,
JamesR.
